Our New Home in Georgia

Here is the house that we have a contract on in Georgia. Assuming everything goes well with the inspections and other contingencies...we should be living there by late July.

The home is a 4-sided brick that sits on 2.5 acres. It is on the end of a Cul-de-sac in a small development, so it is VERY quiet and peaceful back in there. You can't even see the house from the road because of the trees (maybe in the winter).

The property has a creek that runs through it and a tree-fort near that creek (it actually looks like a hunting stand with sides)...Frank already saw a large buck in the trees. The kids are going to LOVE it.

There is a zipline too...but we don't know if the current owners will be leaving that.

Georgia is actually in a 2-year drought and is on restrictions for watering. But, as you can see, it is still very green and lush (the lawn hasn't been watered).

Above: The front of the house. I think this picture was taken facing West.

Above: This picture was taken from the same spot as the first photo...I just turned around and took it looking up the driveway toward the road.

Above: The front door.

Above: the back of the house.

Above: Play area in the backyard. The trails that go off into the woods (and where the creek is) are just behind the play things.

Above: The side of the house.

Above: There is a little shed behind the house. Also, the hot tub under the deck stays.

Above: Coming in the front door - Stairs go up to the second story, the formal dining is off to the right, and the kitchen is straight ahead.

Above: Just to the right of the entry is the formal dining...and you can see the breakfast nook beyond that.

Above: Formal Dining...we are hoping our table will fit in there :-).

Above: The Kitchen.

Above: Another view of the kitchen. The entry to the formal dining would be just to the left of the desk. The three doorways showing are as follows (L to R): The first one goes back toward the foyer and the front door. The second one takes you down to the basement. The third one takes you into the living room.

Above: The Living Room.

Above: The Luscious Laundry Room! Since I will be spending half of my life in here ;-)...it's nice that it is good-sized. There are tons of shelves (built-in homework cubbies) and hooks for backpacks, etc. There's even a laundry chute from the Master Bedroom upstairs (the cupboard just to the right of the window is where it comes out).

Above: The "Basement Hang-out Room." It looks like they finished the basement themselves, but it is cozy and will be a great place for video games and stuff for the kids. There is a bedroom off of that opening to the left. We are going to put a door in where the beads are hanging. Liz wants that room. Further to the left is a door to a storage room.

Above: This is the bedroom in the basement where Liz will be. We will probably tear down the wall coverings at some point and just have drywall so she can paint and stuff.

Above: This is a storage room in the basement. There are french doors leading outside (it is a daylight basement). We are going to convert this to a bedroom so Megan and Liz don't have to share.

Above: The Master Bedroom (tray ceilings). Off to the left of this picture is the entrance to the master bath (see next photo).

Above: French doors leading into the master bath. Before you get to the tub there is a large closet off to the left and a shower/toilet room off to the right. The shower is a double-headed shower. There are also two large storage areas behind each sink.

Above: The bath area. We are going to have the tile redone soon.
Above: There are three bedrooms upstairs (including the master). This is where Mikayla and Ashley will be. There is a Jack-and-Jill bathroom between each of the smaller bedrooms. Each bedroom has their own toilet and sink and then they share a shower room inbetween.
Above: This is the second bedroom upstairs. This is where PJ and Donovan will be. We asked in the contract if they would leave the bunkbed and they agreed :-).

Above: This is the Hot Tub outside the frenchdoors in the basement (off of the storage room/soon to be bedroom).

Below: This is the dinner bell to call everyone out of the forest. :-).
